Ayres is back with another fun and exciting K-9 Rescue tale that features the prominent use of charming canine companions. The story focuses around a struggling pet detective who may have bitten off more than she can chew. Ayres does a terrific job developing and layering these characters so that their burgeoning relationship feels real and connected. Ayres and romantic suspense are a great mix!
Following a devastating event in her previous career that left her with post-traumatic stress disorder, Macayla Burkett has taken a job being a pet detective, specializing in locating missing or stolen pets. Her newest case of a pair of stolen racing greyhounds goes south when she finds them dead, and worries that further horrors may have happened.
